Dog Statue On King Street West... From A Beaver's Perspective

I came across this statue on King Street West. There's actually a bunch of them there, right on the grass.

I'm not 100% certain what this is. Is it a dog?

Nevertheless, nice statue. But you know what would have been even better... A beaver statue! Another missed opportunity.
